Your Whirlpool® range's Air Fry mode helps you skip the countertop gadget and get straight to the good part. This miso-ginger salmon comes together with a bold, savory-sweet glaze and goes straight into your oven's air fry basket — no preheat required on select models. The result is salmon that's caramelized outside, tender within, and ready to serve alongside perfectly crisped broccolini in about 25 active minutes.

1

Peel and finely grate the ginger and garlic into a shallow container. Add miso paste, soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, 1/4 tsp salt, and a few grinds of black pepper. Whisk until mostly smooth — a few small lumps are fine.

2

Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place in the marinade and turn to coat evenly on all sides. Arrange skin side up. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to let the flavors develop.

3

Remove salmon from the refrigerator and let rest at room temperature while you prep the broccolini. Select Air Fry on your Whirlpool® range and set the temperature to 375°F. Trim the broccolini and toss in a bowl with olive oil, remaining 1/8 tsp salt, and black pepper.

4

Place the seasoned broccolini in the air fry basket or tray in a single layer. Cook 3–4 minutes until the edges are starting to char and crisp. The high-circulation heat helps create that satisfying crispy texture quickly.

5

Push the broccolini to the sides of the basket to make room for the salmon. Increase the temperature to 400°F. Lightly coat the basket with cooking spray. Place salmon fillets skin side down in the center.

6

Air fry salmon 8–10 minutes until the glaze is deeply caramelized and salmon flakes easily with a fork. For best results, check at 8 minutes — salmon is done when internal temperature reaches 145°F. Serve immediately with the broccolini alongside.

Yes — if your Whirlpool® range includes Air Cooking Technology or a connected Air Fry mode, it helps you achieve the same crispy, caramelized results you'd get from a countertop air fryer, right in your oven.

On Whirlpool® ranges with No Preheat Air Fry, you can skip the warm-up and start cooking right away, which helps save time without sacrificing crispiness on the glaze.

The broccolini goes in first at 375°F for a few minutes, then you add the salmon at 400°F — the spacious oven capacity helps you cook both components in one session without overcrowding the basket.

Salmon is ready when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F — check at the 8-minute mark and add a minute or two if needed for thicker fillets.

This glaze works well on other firm fish like cod or halibut — just keep an eye on cook time since thinner fillets will be done faster, and check for doneness a few minutes early.

Convection is a good alternative for this recipe — it helps circulate heat for more even results, though a dedicated Air Fry mode is optimized for the high-heat, fast-crisp cooking this dish calls for.
